MidCentury Cocktails Watercolor Illustration Poster Print

For several weeks I have been working really hard on my MidCentury Cocktail Illustrations . My original idea was to do this poster, but then I thought I should maybe offer each cocktail as an individual print as well, because everyone has their favorite, right? As I worked on each cocktail I started laying out each drink in an InDesign file on my computer. I was constantly organizing them and moving them around, trying to find the right proportion size and this also helped me decide on how many cocktail illustrations I was going to display as well. Seventeen illustrations was the magic number that I decided would work nicely for this piece. I think it would make a lovely piece of art for anyone's bar display and especially now that the vintage bar carts are so very popular, (which I also love so much).

I decided on two styles of the poster. I did a poll on my Facebook page and it was almost split down the middle, so I decided it would be best to have both options available in my Etsy shop. You can also buy them locally where I sell my work but, only Style A will be available in stores. There are 17 cocktails in total and you can purchase them individually also in my Etsy shop, in either an 8x10 or 11x14 size. They also come in two different styles for your choice of text options. One option is with the name of the cocktail with the drink ingredients listed below, and then if you prefer a more modern, cleaner look (which is my preference) the second option is just the drink name. Cheers!

spring elk

I finally got around to finishing the painting for my husband's birthday. Jeff is an avid outdoorsman and last Fall he took a trip to Idaho for elk hunting. He just had his 40th birthday in February too, so I thought a painting of an elk would be a good way to commemorate his milestone birthday and his trip. I purchased a rustic-styled frame for this piece and shot this photo in our backyard.

You don't see a lot of "manly" related items on Etsy, so I decided to offer archival prints of this painting too! So, if there's an avid outdoorsman in your life, he may possibly like this print too!

Print size: 8x10" Paper size: 8 1/2 x 11" Printed on bright white , Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Paper Matte on an Epson Stylus Photo R1900 printer using Epson UltraChrome archival inks. Print will be signed and a certificate of authenticity will be included. It will packaged in a cellophane bag with acid-free backing board to ensure a safe delivery. Please note: Watermark will not appear on printed piece. Frame is not included.

Best Friend : new watercolor painting

So, sometimes I can be a bit of a procrastinator, or maybe it's just that I take on too many projects at once. Whatever the case may be, this new watercolor painting isn't really that new at all, in fact, I started it over the holidays and never finished it. YIKES! Well, at long last, here he is finished and as cute as a button -- "Best Friend", that is now available for sale in my Etsy store.

let's take a moment to talk about...glitter

Glitter it's sparkly, comes in an assortment of colors & textures and makes pretty much anything snazzy. So while shopping for said glitter, which by the way I only wanted one little bottle of pink Martha Stewart glitter, but because I had a Michael's 50% off coupon, I got sucked into the 24-color essential glitter set. Yikes. I can't stop looking at all of the tiny jars filled with sparkly wonder.

My initial intentions for the glitter was to put pink glitter on all of the rosy cheeks of my lil' chef series ornaments, but then I saw the multi-pack and had the coupon, and well the twinkling glitter got the best of me.

On a side note, I think a little mouse (that mouse would be my husband by the way), took my digital camera with him up north on Sunday and my plans were to get a handful of prints ready for my Etsy shop but, since he took the camera, there's nothing new posted. In return, I served him brussels sprouts with dinner. HA! Which I happen to love. Soon... I'll have some prints available. All of the Barbie watercolor paintings, Venice window and A Perfect Cap coming to an Etsy shop near you.

In the meantime, I'll be playing with glitter and thinking of some new illustration ideas. So, if you see a girl walking down the street, with a glitter-flecked face, and if she's walking two big dogs, check them, they will have glitter noses too -- most likely it will be me.
