inspiration : retro barbie

I just got back from vacation late this afternoon, and I couldn't wait to get my new paintings up on my blog. I have three new paintings and I'm working on a forth.

For the past five or so years, I've really been into retro. Pretty much anything. Dishes. Furniture. Clothing. Home styles. The list goes on and on.

A few weeks ago my friend Christine and I were talking about Barbie and how much we loved playing with them as little girls. I got to thinking about my Auntie Marsha's retro Barbie dolls and so the hunt began for images of the retro-styled Barbie. I found some great reference and decided to do some paintings.
