I spent the majority of my weekend with my Mom, but also on Saturday I had a night out with the daisies. I call my Mom, Aunt and Grandma the daisies, like the movie Driving Miss Daisy. Not that any of them are old looking or feeble or anything like that, but it's sort of become a little nickname for them as a group. I think they think it's cute.
So Saturday the daisies and I went to dinner and then we came back to my house for dessert and to watch one of my favorite movies, The Holiday. I must have watched it 15 times. For awhile it was on HBO, all the time... and if it was on I was watching it. Then one day, I was walking thru Target and spotted it. Now I own my own copy. I don't care how many times I watch it, I could immediately pop it in and watch it again. It's that good to me. In fact after they left, I even thought about watching it again, but I was too tired. It's not so much about the actors/actresses, except maybe Jude Law, I mean who couldn't watch that man over and over and over. I love the English dialect. I could listen to that for hours. I like the settings, in one part your in Surrey, England in a cozy, little cottage with a blustery winter and then the movie switches over and you're in Los Angeles, California in a breathtaking, mansion, draped in bougainvillea where the sun is sparkling over the pool in the backyard. It's one of those movies where you can easily slip away and enjoy the magical moments of life. I love the soundtrack too, although you'll have to do some digging if you want all of the songs, because the official soundtrack is mostly instrumental. It's wonderfully done by Hans Zimmer, but there's a long list of songs that really helped to make the movie fabulous as well.
Sunday, Mom and I did some errands running around to Target, Meijer and Michaels and then some more errands for the art show on Saturday. I had my Mom over for dinner later on. I made my favorite Turkey Meatloaf recipe. YUM!
All in all, an enjoyable and productive weekend. I hope yours was the same.

weekend recap
Sometimes my weekends don't necessarily involve "a lot" of creative time. Although, the term "creative" is kinda relative isn't it? I mean if I whipped up something amazing in the kitchen, that's creative. If I decorated something in the house, also considered being creative. I think for me when I think about being creative, it's so much more outside of the realm of just putting pen to paper. Anyway, you get the the idea and here's a recap of my weekend.
• Went to the movies with my husband to see "New In Town" starring Renee Zellweger & Harry Connick Jr. (I think HC is well, a pretty amazing fella!)
• Made delicious Steak Fajitas from a Tyler Florence recipe - that could be easily be made into chicken, shrimp or veggie fajitas with the same marinade.
• Grocery shopping
• Cafe Habana in Ann Arbor for dinner & cocktails (Excellent restaurant & atmosphere!)
• Hosting a mini-Super Bowl party - equipped with chili dogs, chili cheese fries, chocolate chip cookies & Coronas
• Shopping online at B&H Photo for a lens for my camera
• Designed some recipe cards in Illustrator (soon to be posted on Etsy)
7) And last but not least, working on a new needle-felting project. Ducks.... coming soon! I wanted to work on something for Easter but then my thought process went into a different direction. So, maybe something for Easter next! We'll see...
