a backsplash, a countertop and some organizing

I haven't really physically created anything in awhile, and I have been missing in action from my blog since we went to Chicago. As winter was coming to the end, I had a bit of the winter blahs. But, we have been really busy at the Oz house. For the past month, we've been working on our kitchen (it's still not done yet), but it's coming along. We have our beautiful, glass tile backsplash and our new granite countertops installed. The tile came from Virginia Tile in Farmington Hills, and the manufacturer is Oceanside Tile. Oceanside has so many amazing glass tiles, like little candies in the candy store. It's really hard to choose! I had no idea that tile & countertops would make such a dramatic difference, but it truly did. We still have more to do, such as painting, possibly a wall of wallpaper, a new floor and I have to order some new furniture, but we are on our way and it's been an exciting change in our house.

Meanwhile, I've been little by little going thru closets, bins and cabinets and pricing items for a yard sale sometime late this Spring. I still have a lot of notecards/paintings etc, so I'm turning it into a art/yard sale. I still have a lot more stuff to go thru but, I'm working on it.

I started a new idea for some watercolor paintings. I purchased some frames, about 6-months ago, and in my cleaning/organizing mode, I was reacquainted with them. A few days ago I started brainstorming on what I was going to paint to put inside them and started searching for some photo reference. The frames are for our bedroom. So stay tuned, I'll be posting a sneak peek of them soon!
