colleen's daisy bucket painting

When someone purchases one of my pieces of artwork, I'm so happy and excited. To the smallest works to the largest they all have the same importance in my heart, because I am truly connected the same to each and every piece I create. What really is exciting to me is to see and hear about how people use the art they purchase from me and how much they like it? There's nothing better than some positive feedback for inspiration to work on more new things. So, if you have some of my artwork floating around out there that you have purchased, I'd love to hear about it. Please take a few photos, and email (cheryloz@wideopenwest.com) me a brief comment with the photos about the the piece (even if it's note cards, a Christmas ornament, anything... even if it was purchased as a gift), then I'll blog about it.

Over the holidays a grade school friend of mine, Colleen purchased one of my original paintings, Daisy Bucket. I love when an original piece sells! I'm always so completely flattered that someone would make the investment of an original. She had it professionally framed and matted and it is now hanging in her home. She took a few photos for me to see how it turned out. It looks great Colleen! Now you can see it too...

If you love the Daisy Bucket painting too, I have archival prints and note cards in my Etsy store and you too can have a Daisy Bucket hanging in your home. I use a high-quality, professional grade Epson printer on exquisite papers. Don't see a size you want? Most prints can be made into custom sizes, email me directly (cheryloz@wideopenwest.com) or send me a convo thru my Etsy shop and we'll work out the details from there.

vacation photos : dog gone good vacation

Every time I'm up at Drummond I always say it's a dog's vacation. Why? Because it's the life of freedom for our Scout & Daisy. Who wouldn't love it? No fences. Relaxing on the deck & sprawling out in the lush summer grass. Investigating the nearby woods. Visiting the relatives that have cottages next door. Watching the geese & ducks fly overhead. Chasing little red squirrels & monarch butterflies and running down the Bass Lake Trail to go swimming in the lake. I really don't know anyone that enjoys Drummond more than them. It's a happy place for man & his best friends.

a spring trip to the island

Another Memorial Day has come and gone, and that means another trip to Drummond Island has come and gone as well. My husband and I had a fabulous time though. Relaxing, bbqing, bird-watching, taking the dogs for a swim, walking, 4-wheeling, painting (for me) and of course no trip would be complete without a stop at the Northwood bar for my favorite popcorn and the coldest beer ever! Beer always tastes the best on the island.

I have a new obsession and I admit it. I'm addicted to watching hummingbirds. I'm so completely fascinated with the little buggers. Within about 2 hours of hanging up the feeder the dive bombers arrived. Throughout the weekend we had a total of 4 birds, 2 males and 2 females and they were non-stop at the feeder from sun up till sun down. Just absolutely amazing little creatures. I even got some sun sitting on the deck with my camera trying to get a few good shots.

The above are just a few of my favorite pics from the weekend, but if you click the link you can check out my full album on Facebook. Happy Memorial Day!
